If I Were Starting A Brand Here’s Where I Would Start

If I were starting a brand tomorrow I would let go of the fear telling me that I will fail, or that starting over is hard and takes time. The fact is, in 1 year from now or 10 years from now you are going to wish you had done the thing you want to do now. People view business like marriage, as permanent, but it doesn’t have to be. You can start over and over again, reinvent your business, add to your business, change your business, or scale your business. The only guarantee we have is change. As long as you are malleable and prepared for change, you can meet opportunities anywhere.

So Get Started! Launch that business. Follow your dreams!

It’s important to understand your desires from your talents before you settle on a business idea. Find the one thing you are good, or great at, and enjoy doing most. If you fall into a business trend doing something you are not passionate about because it is making other people successful, it will eventually feel like a job and you will experience burnout quickly. This will cause you to quit. Every job you do, whether you love what you are doing or it feels monotonous, will eventually create a level of burnout, so stick to what you love and be consistent.

Set expectations for your business goals not your value, and be realistic about your goals. You have to build brand loyalty and authenticity before you see growth. When that reel doesn’t perform well, or that post doesn’t get a lot of likes, don’t base your business or self worth on those metrics.

You can achieve the same thing in 1 year or 5 years but it depends on how much you are willing to work for it. Everything requires time and sacrifices. Nothing is going to happen overnight so plan accordingly and give yourself time to reach your goals. If you have a 9-5pm job now hustle in your off hours. If you want it bad enough you will find a way to get it. The time you sacrifice today will pay off in dividends later. Build that legacy!!

Have a strategy and a plan locked in before launching. Your plan will be the program for your purpose which is your businesses why. Why are you doing this? Why did you create this business? Every successful business has a why. Your strategy will be the blueprint or idea that will help you accomplish your purpose. Keep in mind, as you grow so will your plan and strategy. Be adaptable because that’s where the growth will come in.

Research everything in your niche and utilize as many freebies as possible. There are TONS of valuable resources out there from Google, YouTube, TikTok, other businesses, brands and coaches. Find it. Use it. Don’t make excuses for the things you don’t have, find resources for the things you need.

Once you have your niche, identified your target audience, researched competitors, defined your brands persona and your branding, built your website and created your plan and strategy, you are ready to share it on social media. When you are confident you are ready to jump in and be consistent start creating content.

Social media can me intimidating because growth takes time. The key is to stick to a consistent schedule while also maintaining brand consistency. Work toward a 30 day goal. If you feel stuck during that 30 days and give up start over. The easiest way to stay consistent is to create monthly goals and from there create quarterly goals and annual goals. The more you stay active and consistent with your strategy the sooner you will see results. Just like you don’t receive immediate results from when you first start working out, the same is true in business. It requires continuous hard work, effort and consistency to see results.

Knowing your niche and establishing your brand message is only half the battle. Before you can sell any product or service you have to build brand loyalty and authenticity. Understanding that the first 90-120 days of launching a business is not about making money. It is about building and adding value to your community. Think of this period as a serving period. How can your serve your ideal target market? How can you solve their problems? How can you touch them directly?

Just remember, anything is possible but a successful business is built on serving its community. If you are ready to take a leap and dive into your entrepreneurship journey we would love to help you get started. Email us today at info@mfscreativeagency.com or DM us for more information.
